Short stories: 

  • 5500 words maximum, no minimum, the title is not included in the word count.

  • All entries are judged anonymously:  entrants will be given a number on entering.  Judges will only see your number.  Do not include your name on the manuscript.

  • All entries submitted should be on a science fiction related subject, and written in any style or form.

  • Entrants may enter only one short story in the competition each year.

  • Stories are normally written before the start of the convention and the deadline for submissions is the end of session 1 on Friday evening.

 

Eligibility

  • The Prize is open to writers of any nationality writing in English,  

  • Entries must be entirely the work of the entrant and by submitting you are confirming that the work is your own. Any evidence to the contrary will result in immediate disqualification.

  • Entries must never have been published or self-published, in any format electronic, on-line or in print.

  • If your entry has been longlisted or shortlisted in other competitions, and provided it has not won any prize or been published, then it is eligible for the Convergence Prize.
